[Note: This article is a response to actual conversations between small business owners and written by our web design and development firm.]

Hello. My name is Mr. SmallBiz Owner, and I have a small business in a small town that the United States. My shop has been in operation for several years, at least since 1990. I was recently approached by many representatives of web design and development of companies trying to sell me all the reasons that I, the small business owner of a shopin my area, really need a website today and aged in 21 century, and how my small business can not survive long without a company's website.

I would love the opportunity to talk about the top 10 reasons why I, as owner of a small company is not a site for my needs of small businesses. Here's my simple explanation of why I feel like I do.

1. First, I have a solid customer / client base with good business relations.

Not knowreally need to work, not more, heck, I could not accept more clients, and not able to manage my company to grow revenue no longer want. My current customers provide me with all the work that I always need. They are nowhere.

In addition to my current customers are looking at my site, at least you never know everything there is to know about me and my small business. Everyone knows that we are here in the town of Smallville USA. I have to call me because they gave me the site as well. I have more thanenough residual income for my family to last a good year.

2. A small company will never be challenged by other competitors to be in my small town.

My small business is unique and no other, is not the same in this area, as I do. As a small business locally for many years, we are known as experts in our field, and always will be, as professionals in the field are known. We do not need to have something new in our industry to learn, because weindustry almost never changes at all. Our customers do not go elsewhere for other small businesses like us who will always continue to visit us for their needs in the town of Smallville.

3. Word of mouth and referrals have always worked best for me.

Our customers regularly refer their friends, family and colleagues to us and to potential customers who do not even bother to ask me or what I call a website. I usually call an e-mail a brochure, theand a business card instead.

4. Are still active today, even though I have a website alone.

I am very confident that I will be happy in business for many years to come. No other competitors will move in or close to me and my closest competitors are too far away for my customers to drive in a way that would come shopping with me, Mr. SmallBiz owner in a small company. My current customer base will always continue to shop in my network of small businesses, they will never leave, never gets old and no longer need for my products or services.

5. I belong to several local networks and professional organizations.

I am a member of my local Chamber of Commerce and the local Better Business Bureau and business networking groups. All organizations that belong to me with plenty of scope to provide on a daily or weekly, even if I have to pay an annual fee to be members of these groups. As a result of thismembership and belief, I need a website design company for ever. These organizations would help me to find additional potential partnerships and professional adjustments on an ongoing basis.

6. Smarter people do not look older Anyways websites.

'm Too busy and could care less content and images on my website. They have not simply curious and most people in the United States are not exactly computertheir homes or offices to see a small company up online. They would rather spend time on their busy life to jump into a car, weaving in and out of heavy traffic trying to find my own small business in town, look through the hundreds of similar products in my store, we are in long lines liquidity by buying these products with the kids screaming at their side and return to their cars to head home, even in heavy traffic. What happens if you do not have what they need?Oh well. Just let them back to their jobs and spend more time driving around to find the product elsewhere in the small town. I do not care about them is not.

7. I have a brochure I developed 5 years ago.

I have many other leaflets left on my shelf of a small company, and is still fairly up to date. In order to save money on advertising and marketing expenses, I first use these brochures to my existing customers, wheninto my shop. When I finally sold out leaflets, can I still use my printer to print our special weekly ink black and white, my clients do not worry about the presentation of my marketing materials do not anyways. Why should they worry about my website or presentation?

8. Web design and development is just another way companies try to get your hard earned U.S. dollars.

Web design and development of businesses do not bother me, Mr. SmallBiz owner or mysmall businesses in a small town. I'm just trying to sell me a website, click on inaccurate information on my competitors and my local area, and using fear tactics to me to buy into the whole concept of designing the site. They keep telling me that my current and potential customers need and expect from me and a small business. I just laugh and laugh. They think they know more about my customers to me, is absolutely ridiculous!

9. I have been very visible in my roomtarget.

All those with whom I do business I know is a small company located in Smallville U.S. cities. They can easily find me on any of the millions of local yellow pages, which pay a monthly fee because everything a person can search for products and services in their local yellow pages. This is the last and largest piece of marketing and advertising ever created. Has a very high return on investment, is very convenient and caneasy to find, took me through the yellow pages.

10. Finally, the seats are strictly for large companies, offering services and products in the U.S. and global supply.

I only have a small private company to save the city Smallville America, therefore, a site is too far-reaching. And why should I care about reaching potential customers across the United States? Local customers, I have now, certainly give me more than enough revenue tosupport of my family for many years to come. I always have to decide to market to potential customers across America, I can always pay for ads in newspapers in all 50 states. Because I never surf the Internet, I am very confident that my client is. The Internet is composed of children and adolescents, and are not my goal for my small business.
